Executive Committee

The Executive Committee of ASACPEV Inc. provides leadership, governance, and support for the work of Clinical Pastoral Education across Victoria.

Comprised of experienced educators, supervisors, and spiritual care professionals, the Committee meets regularly to guide the Association’s direction, maintain standards, and promote excellence in the practice of supervision and spiritual/pastoral care.

Andrew Somerville, President

Andrew is a Clinical Pastoral Educator and works at Epworth Health as the Pastoral Care Manager and CPE Centre Director. Before CPE, Andrew worked as the Minister of a Baptist Church for 19 years.

Claire Davies, Vice-President

Claire works at the Peter MacCallum Cancer Centre in Melbourne as a Spiritual Care Practitioner, CPE Supervisor and Educator and recently became Centre Director of the Peter Mac CPE Centre. She is credentialed at Level 3 with Spiritual Care Australia and came to spiritual care after a 20 year career in critical care nursing.

Helen Vester, Secretary

Helen is a Provisional Clinical Pastoral Education Consultant who offers CPE, supervision, and education in supervision online from Perth. She serves as an ANZACPE Board member and Chair of the ANZACPE Professional Standards Committee. Helen brings experience in spiritual care across hospital and prison contexts and supervisory experience including in aged care and parish settings. She values reflective practice, thoughtful formation, and creating learning spaces that are both rigorous and relational.

Jane Monk, Treasurer

Jane is a Provisional Clinical Pastoral Educator based at St Vincent's Community CPE Centre, and a Pastoral Care Practitioner within the St Vincent's Health team. Jane has previously served as Secretary and Registrar. Jane came to Pastoral Care from a career as a Physiotherapist and a Consultant within Victoria's WorkCover System
